Terremoto: Stay Informed about Earthquakes in Italy

Terremoto is a free Android app developed by Nico Tranquilli that provides the latest earthquake data for the Italian peninsula. Powered by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), this app offers users push notification alerts for earthquake events.

One of the main features of Terremoto is the ability to receive push notifications on your phone as soon as the event data is available from an official source. Users can set alerts based on location and/or magnitude threshold, ensuring they stay informed about earthquakes that are relevant to them.

The app also includes a map that displays different sized and colored circles to represent event magnitude and age. This visual representation allows users to quickly understand the severity and recency of earthquakes in their area.

Terremoto also provides an event timeline, allowing users to view earthquake data from today, yesterday, and previous days. Each event has a detail view that can be accessed from the map and timeline views, providing users with more information about specific earthquakes.

Additional features of Terremoto include magnitude and nearby event filters, social sharing capabilities to share event maps and data to social networks, and reverse geocoding to automatically calculate the names of locations when they are unavailable.

The app is available in multiple languages including English, Spanish, French, German, and Italian, making it accessible to a wide range of users.

Please note that Terremoto is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by INGV. The earthquake data is sourced from the © ISIDe Working Group (INGV, 2010), Italian Seismological Instrumental and parametric database.
